Rossi’s Desmosedici GP11 unveiled

The Ducati prototype which Valentino Rossi will ride during the 2011 MotoGP season was officially presented on Wednesday, with the Italian’s own individual touch added.

Valentino Rossi’s inauguration as an official Ducati rider took a further step at Madonna di Campiglio on Wednesday, when along with team-mate Nicky Hayden he was on hand to unveil the Desmosedici GP11 that both with ride in the 2011 MotoGP World Championship.
Complete in the individualised fairings that each rider will display this season, Rossi’s machine – personalised by Aldo Drudi – had hints of the Italian’s famous yellow, as the prototype was revealed for the first time.
The man behind the design of the GP11, Filippo Preziosi, was present at a press conference to describe the major characteristics of the machine as he detailed the features that include new aerodynamics, changes to engine torque, the stiffness of the chassis and revised electronics. “The aerodynamics are completely different, and the features are those we tested at Valencia (in November) upon which we will base the evolution of the bike,” said Preziosi, who also spoke to motogp.com after the press conference to explain the main changes to the prototype.
Also in attendance was Ducati General Manager Claudio Domenicali, who said: “2011 will be a year of great change. It will be the start of the third phase of our presence in MotoGP, a historic moment. To have Valentino in the team is a new aspect. Everybody knows what Valentino is capable of in terms of giving feedback for improving the bike and furthering the capacity of our project.”

Ini Dia Alasan Valentino Rossi ke Ducati Kesepakatan Rossi dengan Ducati sudah tercapai sejak Juli 2010.

VIVAnews - Presiden Ducati Gabriele del Torchio mengungkapkan alasan utama Valentino Rossi bergabung dengan timnya. Del Torchio juga mengaku kesepakatan Ducati dengan Rossi sudah terjadi sejak Juli 2010 lalu.

Rossi telah resmi bergabung dengan Ducati setelah menandatangani kontrak selama dua tahun, Minggu 15 Agustus 2010. Rossi akan menungganggi Ducati mulai musim MotoGP 2011. Dan kepindahan ini cukup bersejarah karena menggabungkan tim dan rider terbaik dari Italia.

Meski The Doctor belum berbicara mengenai alasan kepindahannya ke Ducati setelah tujuh tahun membela FIAT Yamaha, Del Torchio yakin alasan utama Rossi menerima pinangan Ducati karena hubungan yang erat dengan Manajer Umum Ducati Filippo Preziosi.

"Saya yakin alasan utama karena hubungan yang dia (Rossi) miliki dengan Filippo Preziosi. Saya percaya itu adalah kunci utama. Ini bukan masalah uang. Menurut saya Valentino akan bangga bisa membalap dengan motor asal Italia, tapi untuk saat ini hubungan dengan Filippo memainkan peran penting," ujar Del Torchio seperti dikutip Autosport, Minggu 15 Agustus 2010.

Del Torchio kemudian menegaskan negosiasi Ducati dengan Rossi sudah terjadi sejak lama dan kesepakatan tercapai Juli 2010 lalu. Rossi sendiri diharapkan akan mulai adaptasi dengan motor Ducati secepatnya setelah seri terakhir MotoGP musim ini di Valencia, November 2010.

"Keputusan bukan di tangan kami, tapi kami mengharapkan Yamaha melepas dia di akhir tahun. Ini keputusan mereka bukan kami. Satu-satu hal yang bisa kami katakan adalah kami sudah melepas Casey Stoner. Dia akan dilepas ke Honda setelah seri Valencia. Kami masih dalam pembicaraan, jadi belum ada keputusan final," papar Del Torchio.

"Pada dasarnya kami memutuskan untuk bekerjasama sejak Juli, tapi kontrak baru diselesaikan beberapa hari lalu. Ini keputusan yang sangat terbaru, itu mengapa kami mengumumkannya di Brno," tutup Del Torchio.
